Free Printable Winter Forest Art

12/14/20 | Christmas, Cozy Hygge Home, Home Decor

This free printable winter forest art is perfect not just for the holidays, but for the rest of the winter season as well!

I’ve lived in or near the woods for the majority of my life. We currently live in a pine forest near a small mountain town. I was reminded with the beginning of the winter season that nothing feels more magical than a quiet winter forest. From the early morning frost making everything sparkle to the filtered sunlight coming through the trees in the late afternoon, it’s all beautiful.

I wanted to create some kind of artwork that reflected all the beauty and magic that a winter forest embodies. This watercolor printable and quote are my attempt to do that.

I included a quote at the bottom of the print that you can choose to display, or if you prefer, it can easily be hidden behind the mat in a picture frame. I added the quote because I think it’s such a great reminder (especially right now) that there is always hope in the future, and that nature is such a good example of how hope manifests itself throughout the seasons.

“Take me deep into the wintery woods where hope glitters freshly worn.” – Angie Weiland Crosby

This art turns out best when printed on 8.5″ x 11″ card stock. You can use your printer settings to print it to either fill the page or print with a border depending on the frame you want to use. It would also look really cute clipped on a clipboard!

Ways To Display Your Art

I love to use season art in our kitchen. It’s a really easy way to make a decor change for the holidays without feeling like you have to replace all your dishes and accessories! One of my favorite ways to display it is framed next to my cookbooks.

Adding other seasonal items helps create a small vignette. For this art I used a mercury tree and a wooden bowl with mini ornaments to bring a little bit of Christmas cheer to this corner of the kitchen. And the best part? It’s easy to change it up but leave the art for some decor that lasts all winter!

Here are a few other ideas for places where seasonal art really shines:

  • In your laundry room propped up above your washer or dryer.
  • In a bedroom layered over a mirror or other artwork above a dresser.
  • On an entryway table to set the tone of the season as you walk into your home.
  • On a bookshelf tucked in amongst books or other items you regularly display.
